Frankel named after the American trainer Bobby Frankel, trained by Henry Cecil and owned by Khalid Abdullah, the world was soon to be made aware of a truly special horse.
His 2 year old campaign was headlined with an impressive 3 runs most notably in the Dewhurst which was the first Group 1 race of many for him to win.
However the best was yet to come, the 2000 Guineas was seen as one of the most impressive runs by a horse ever, as Frankel won by 6 lengths, the longest win in 64 years, but had led at one stage by 15 lengths, showing how impressive he is.
As continued to show his ability as a 3 year old, a minor scare arised for him early as a 4 year old, but all fears were gone as showed his ability yet again against the best of his age group.
As a result of this, he was retired to stud unbeaten, rated the highest ever for a racehorse and won a record 10 Group 1 Races, with 9 of these in a row.
